VIDÓR Hosts Internal Training on World Day for Safety and Health at Work

On April 28, 2026 — World Day and National Day for Safety and Health at Work — VIDÓR held an internal awareness session focused on ergonomics and proper workplace posture, aimed specifically at employees who spend a significant part of their day working at a computer.

The session was led by Engineer Jaime Seoane, Senior Occupational Health and Safety Technician at VIDÓR, and covered topics such as correct seating posture, proper monitor positioning and alignment, the importance of regular breaks, and daily habits that support long-term physical well-being. Small adjustments to a workstation may seem minor, but they have a real and lasting impact on workers' musculoskeletal health over time.

What Is Workplace Ergonomics and Why Does It Matter

Workplace ergonomics is the discipline dedicated to adapting work environments and equipment to the physical and cognitive needs of the worker, with the goal of preventing injury and promoting well-being. In office settings, the primary risks are linked to prolonged incorrect postures, poorly configured workstations, and the absence of regular breaks.

According to the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work, musculoskeletal disorders are among the most common causes of workplace absenteeism across Europe. Adopting sound ergonomic practices reduces that incidence, boosts productivity, and contributes to a healthier, more sustainable work environment.

This initiative reinforces VIDÓR's commitment to fostering a safe, healthy, and mindful workplace for all its employees. For the group, occupational safety is a shared responsibility — one that starts with individual behaviors in everyday work life.
